Rumors have circulated for years of the possibility of future Disney parks. Could the Lone Star State become a little more magical in the future?

The Disney World resort is responsible for drawing the most tourism to a single city in the world. With millions of visitors per year, it is no wonder that Disney is the topic of conversations and rumors throughout the world. People are enthralled with the idea of secret plans to build a third Disney Resort in the United States. Though there are several possible locations, Disney Dallas has been the topic of conversation in recent months.

Building a New Disney Park

The original Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim, California and is home to the original Magic Kingdom. Still open today, the city has become famous for being home to Mickey and Minnie. A new park, Disney’s California Adventure, was built at the turn of the millennium for park-goers that have a thrill-seeking side.

Disneyland was Walt Disney’s original dream that inspired the creation of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando location has grown to be the most popular and is home to four main parks, with several subsidiaries for resort guests. Because Disney Orlando was a secretive purchase made by Walt Disney, it seems that the past may repeat itself if Disney is building a new park.

Is Texas Getting a Disney Dallas?

Dallas, Texas is an international hub for travel, and ironically right in the middle of the United States. Naturally, it seems like the perfect location for a new Disney park. Dallas is located in Central Texas, and has a dense population. The large amounts of vacant land that surround the city seem perfect for a suburban resort.

As of 2009, news has been circulating of Disney purchasing property north of Dallas in 2008. But the rumors have been just that: rumors. Disney has been forthcoming about other recent projects, with an announcement of a Shanghai park opening no later than the year 2014.

The city of Frisco has been eyed as a part of major Disney Dallas rumors. Frisco lies just north of the city and has considerable amounts of available land that would be suitable for a Disney type of attraction. Disney World continues to deny claims that there will be any future parks. In the mean time, Mouse lovers hold on hope that the denials could be false.

Rumors have persisted for years about the future of a Disney Dallas and they do not seem to be dying down anytime soon. Only time will tell if Texas will be host to the next Disney Resort.
